Travel Interruptions Information
At Holy Land Experience LLC, we understand that travel to the Holy Land can occasionally be affected by regional tensions, governmental actions, public health situations, airline disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances. This page explains how such events may impact your trip and how we handle those situations.
Rescheduling Policy & Non-Refundable Payments
Due to the nature of international group travel, all deposits and payments made to Holy Land Experience LLC are non-refundable.
We secure and prepay transportation, lodging, meals, entrance fees, security arrangements, guides, and other services well in advance of travel. Many of these payments are made to foreign vendors under contractual agreements that do not allow refunds. Once funds are paid on your behalf, they are contractually committed and are not recoverable by Holy Land Experience LLC.
If a traveler chooses to cancel for personal reasons — including illness, schedule conflicts, or change of mind — refunds cannot be issued.
If a trip must be postponed due to circumstances beyond our control (see Force Majeure below), payments will be transferred to a future trip date. Rescheduling constitutes fulfillment of our contractual obligation to provide the tour.
Travel Insurance – Protecting Your Investment
Just because we are not able to issue refunds does not mean you cannot safeguard your trip.
We strongly recommend that every traveler purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. Travel insurance may provide coverage for:
Personal trip cancellation
Medical emergencies
Travel interruption
Airline delays or cancellations
Emergency evacuation
Other unforeseen circumstances
Travel insurance is the primary way travelers can protect their financial investment in the event they personally cannot travel or must cancel for a covered reason.
Holy Land Experience LLC does not provide travel insurance and is not responsible for claims decisions made by insurance providers.
What Does This Mean for Your Trip?
The impact of an interruption depends largely on timing.
If your trip is scheduled more than three (3) months from the time of an interruption, we continue working toward your trip proceeding as scheduled.
If your trip is scheduled within the next two (2) months of an interruption, we may evaluate whether it is prudent and responsible to move the trip to a later date.
If a trip must be moved due to safety concerns, regional instability, airline disruptions, government advisories, public health issues, or other circumstances beyond our control, you will not lose your payments. All funds paid will be applied in full toward the rescheduled trip date.
We will communicate directly with your group leader regarding any necessary adjustments, including coordinating with airlines to move airfare when possible. Airline policies are controlled by the airlines and are subject to their rules and fees.
Force Majeure
(Events Beyond Our Control)
Holy Land Experience LLC shall not be liable for delays, changes, or postponements resulting from events beyond our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Events”), including but not limited to:
War or threat of war
Terrorism or civil unrest
Government actions or travel restrictions
Public health emergencies or pandemics
Natural disasters
Airline cancellations or transportation disruptions
Acts of God
Political instability
In the event of a Force Majeure Event that makes travel unsafe, illegal, or impractical, Holy Land Experience LLC reserves the right to reschedule the trip to a future date. Refunds will not be issued due to Force Majeure Events. Force Majeure Events may occur before or during travel.
Our Experience in the Region
For more than ten years, Nicole and Caleb have led pilgrims to the Holy Land through various regional tensions and global disruptions. Situations like these are not new to us.
Historically, periods of heightened tension have often resolved within a short timeframe — frequently within one to two weeks — with travel conditions returning to normal. However, we cannot guarantee how long any particular situation may last.
What we can say with confidence:
We have never had a group permanently miss their pilgrimage if they still desired to travel.
When necessary, trips have been rescheduled rather than canceled.
Regardless of conflict, COVID, or other emergencies, we have consistently worked to ensure every group is eventually able to travel.
Our commitment remains the same: if your group wants to go, we will do everything reasonably possible to make it happen.
Our Commitment to Safety
We do not cancel pilgrimages due to temporary regional tensions. If necessary, we move them to a later date that accommodates the group and our travel calendar.
In past situations, we have taken groups as soon as two weeks after tensions were elevated. No traveler should assume a trip is canceled unless formally notified by us.
Nicole and Caleb personally travel with each group. We carefully monitor official advisories, on-the-ground contacts, and security conditions. We will not proceed with travel if we believe conditions are unsafe for our pilgrims.
Holy Land Experience LLC reserves the right to make itinerary adjustments, date changes, or supplier substitutions when necessary to protect traveler safety and ensure trip viability.
What Should I Do If There Is an Interruption or If I Personally Cannot Travel?
If a personal situation prevents you from traveling with your group, please contact us immediately so we can begin the process of transferring your payments to a future trip date, subject to availability.
If there is a regional interruption, first and foremost, we encourage prayer for peace — for all people of the region, for our leaders, and for leaders throughout the Middle East. We pray for wisdom, restraint, and a future where peace and shared stability are priorities.
At the same time, we are actively monitoring conditions and working behind the scenes to ensure your pilgrimage either proceeds safely as scheduled or is moved appropriately and smoothly.
A Final Encouragement
Travel to the Holy Land requires flexibility, faith, and trust. While we cannot control geopolitical events or global disruptions, we can promise experience, diligence, transparency, and commitment to every pilgrim entrusted to us.
If you have questions about your specific trip, please contact your group leader or reach out to us directly.
